Katharine Currie

Katharine Currie, Senior Materials Information Consultant, coordinates the Materials Data Engineering effort at MDMi. Katharine works with clients to initially load their data, audit existing data, and implement best-practice data hygiene and traceability.

Katharine graduated from Purdue University with a B.S. in Materials Science and Engineering. Before working at MDMi, Katharine worked in the aerospace industry, where she wrote component repairs, ran materials data testing programs, and managed the materials and processes specification drafting and revision process. She was a member of the SAE International AMS Metals from 2016 to 2019 and a member of the SAE International AMEC committee from 2017 to 2019.

In her spare time, Katharine enjoys playing tabletop games with her friends and is an officer in her church bowling league. She also fosters cats, much to the chagrin of her permanent cats.

Katharine is a big believer in clarity, consistency, and the Oxford comma. She is excited to help clients make their database better fit for their purpose.
